FOX 24 US In 2020, Georgia stood out: a red state in which top officials bucked President Trump’s demand to overturn his election loss.  Tuesday’s GOP primaries suggested Georgia’s relative independence from Trump’s reactionary movement may be coming to an end. Election deniers went one and two in the GOP primary for governor, ending the gubernatorial bid for Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. The winning attorney general candidate, meanwhile, has vowed to defend “President Trump’s effort to enforce” existing voting laws. Lt. Governor Burt Jones, a man who about two weeks before the election proposed the state switch to paper…

FOX 24 US Ed Gallrein — a farmer and a former Navy SEAL who was recruited by President Trump personally to oust Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) — bested the incumbent in the Republican primary for Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District on Tuesday. Its the latest victory for the president in recent weeks as he seeks to assert total dominance over the Republican Party, ousting politicians who wouldn’t fully capitulate to his will from the Indiana state legislature to the U.S. Senate. Massie was perhaps the biggest target of all. He has been a thorn in House Republican leadership’s side for years,…

FOX 24 US President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice announced the creation of a nearly $1.8 billion fund — dubbed the “Anti-Weaponization Fund” — on Monday to compensate those people who claim “suffered weaponization and lawfare,” a group that includes many of Trump’s friends and allies, as well as the assorted right-wing activists who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, to block Trump’s election loss. The slush fund, part of a settlement agreement that resolves Trump’s lawsuit against his own Internal Revenue Services (IRS) over the leak of his tax returns, is a “remarkable move that degrades not one…

FOX 24 US President Trump endorsed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) over Sen. John Cornyn (R) in the Texas Senate primary runoff Tuesday after months of waffling. “Ken is a true MAGA Warrior who has ALWAYS delivered for Texas, and will continue to do so in the United States Senate,” Trump wrote in a lengthy Truth Social post, adding: “John Cornyn is a good man, and I worked well with him, but he was not supportive of me when times were tough…” “Ken Paxton has gone through a lot, in many cases, very unfairly, but he is a Fighter,…

FOX 24 US Minnesota state prosecutors charged a second ICE agent on Monday with assault over incidents that took place during the Trump administration’s winter occupation of the city. Prosecutors brought four counts of second degree assault and one count of falsely reporting a crime against Christian Castro, who allegedly shot a man of Venezuelan origin. The man, who had legal status to be in the United States, told law enforcement that he had helped a housemate escape an ICE officer and was inside his home at the time that Castro allegedly shot him. The charges set up what’s likely…

FOX 24 US For nine hours in steamy Washington, D.C. on Sunday, President Donald Trump’s most ardent evangelical supporters gathered on the National Mall for a “historic” event to “rededicate” America to God. The Rededicate 250: National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise and Thanksgiving was part of Freedom 250, a series of tacky Christian nationalist semiquincentennial festivities orchestrated by the Trump administration. But as much as Trump berates other people for being insufficiently patriotic, or for being “anti-Christian” for failing to follow the edicts of his Christian nationalist supporters, he could only be bothered to send in a very strangely presented…

FOX 24 US The Republican primary race for Sen. Bill Cassidy’s (R-LA) Senate seat is headed to a runoff next month. But Cassidy won’t be a part of it. The two-term senator went down in defeat Saturday to two MAGA challengers, Rep. Julie Letlow (R-LA) and Louisiana state treasurer and former congressman John Fleming. None of the candidates in the competitive three-way race received the majority of the votes needed to avoid a runoff. At the time the AP called the race, just before 11 p.m. ET, Letlow had 44.9 percent of the vote, leading the pack, while Fleming received…

FOX 24 US Amid mounting pressure from President Trump, Democratic Colorado Gov. Jared Polis commuted the sentence of Tina Peters on Friday. Peters is the former elections administrator of Mesa County, Colorado who went rogue and was convicted for breaching her office’s own voting equipment in her quest to find non-existent evidence of election fraud in the 2020 election. Back in 2021, Peters, who has become a close ally of MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, granted an unauthorized individual access to the county’s voting equipment as a way to somehow prove that President Donald Trump won the 2020 election. The data…

FOX 24 US Black people in America did worse economically in 2025 than at any time since the Federal Reserve began its financial wellbeing survey in 2013, according to some measures published Wednesday. More notable than the depressed financial situation of Black respondents is the gap between Black people and, in some cases, every other racial and ethnic group recorded. The Federal Reserve’s report, Economic Well-Being of U.S. Households in 2025, is the latest data set revealing the ways and extent Black Americans suffered tangible economic harm under the first year of President Donald Trump’s second presidential term, wherein the…
